Something Big is What I'm After Now
Exhibited at solo exhibition under the same title, VDA Galerija Akademija, Vilnius (2021) and group exhibition, VDA Titanikas, Vilnius (2021)
35mm photography, cyanotype on paper and fabrics, sound installation, embroidery on paper
The work series features a publication made out of cyanotypes on various paper, textiles and a soundtrack, exploring the notion of time, cyclicality and human transience. Taking off from Buddhist concepts on reincarnation, ever-expanding Universe and endless processes, the work emphasises the constant change and fragmented perception of time. Through cyanotype, stitching, sound and unbound pages of the publication, the work takes shape through playful & fragmented nature, which the viewer is free to manipulate. Soundtrack refers to a stitching process that is displaced from the regular book binding process and emphasizes the fact of the pages left loose.
